Mid-Century Modern Renovation & Furnishing

West Vancouver

After years of living abroad and moving frequently, this family chose to settle in West Vancouver, drawn to the natural beauty and coastal lifestyle. When they discovered this mid-century modern post-and-beam home in Sandy Cove, the decision felt immediate. With its panoramic ocean views and strong architectural presence, the home offered the perfect opportunity to put down roots and create a lasting sense of place.

This South-facing, fully renovated mid-century modern home had been thoughtfully updated prior, with expansive floor-to-ceiling glazing in the living and dining areas that maximize natural light and capture the surrounding landscape, and ocean view. Our role in this warm modern renovation in West Vancouver was to build on that foundation, introducing warmth, texture, and a more cohesive interior palette.

The fireplace became a key focal point in the redesign. We reintroduced wood tones to complement the original post-and-beam structure and added a modern marble-clad linear fireplace, bringing depth and warmth to the previously white-washed space.

Layered with mid-century modern furniture, natural materials, and textured area rugs, the interiors strike a balance between contemporary living and the home’s modern architectural roots. The result is a refined, livable space that reflects both West Coast modern design and the timeless character of mid-century modern homes in West Vancouver.
